Physicians and Staff
Working together, for youWhen you visit Retina Northwest, our team of over seventy professionals will work together to provide you with the very best of medical care and service.
Our PhysiciansRetina Northwest was formed in 1999 by the merger of two well established retina practices in the Portland area. All six of our physicians are ophthalmologists who specialize and limit their practice to diseases of the retina and vitreous. Please follow the links below to learn more about the individual physicians who will lead your care at Retina Northwest:
Ophthalmic Technicians and PhotographersOphthalmic Technicians are highly-educated and specialized medical assistants, trained to measure visual acuity and intraocular pressure, give ocular medications, obtain medical and family histories, and perform numerous specialized tests and procedures. Retina Northwest employs over 35 Technicians in our clinics, many of whom hold prestigious professional certifications issued through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. These extremely valuable members of our staff will assist your physician in every facet of your care at Retina Northwest.
Ophthalmic Photography is a diagnostic discipline that utilizes a variety of photographic and electronic imaging techniques to document and help diagnose the diseases of the eye. The Ophthalmic Photographers of Retina Northwest are experts in producing studies of the highest quality and definition. The images they produce will be used by your physician to both assess the health of your eyes, as well as to monitor your treatment and progress.
Clinic ReceptionistsIn many ways, the Receptionists behind the front desks of our Clinics are our very own “air traffic controllers.” These multi-tasking experts begin the staff’s work for your appointment, and do their very best to make both the beginning and end of your visit the best they can be. Among the many services our Receptionists can provide are applying payments to your account, ensuring all your records are up-to-date and available to your physician, and helping you schedule future appointments.
Scheduling, Medical Records, and Business Services StaffWhether you are scheduling an appointment by phone, calling in for a copy of your medical record, or seeking an answer to a question about your bill or insurance coverage, our administrative team is also here to help. Our Schedulers are trained to ensure that you receive an appointment when you need it. Our Insurance and Billing Specialists can assist with understanding your insurance coverage and managing your payment arrangements. And our Medical Records team takes pride in ensuring that your records are current, complete, and available wherever and whenever they are needed. To reach any of the members of these teams, please phone our Main Switchboard at 503-274-2121 during any normal business day.
Together, we strive every day to give you the best care and service, and to do so professionally, with kindness and compassion.
